Artisan’s Asylum is one of the world’s largest non-profit makerspaces. As a board member, I’ve worked to reconstitute the institutions at the top of the Asylum: the board of directors, the president, and the executive director. I’ve also worked to ensure that the Asylum become and stay connected to external institutions including MathWorks, Autodesk, SolidWorks, the Capital Network, Microsoft New England, the Rose Fitzgreal Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, the Fab Foundation, the City of Somerville, the Museum of Science, the Cambridge Science Festival, Sparkfun, Somerville High School, and the Science Club for Girls.

Market expert for makers, hobbyists, and pre-university students. Organized the Autonomous Fighting Robot Design Challenge as part of the 2014 Cambridge Science Festival. This role is designed as a survey of job opportunities within the company and training program on the company’s products for applicants coming directly from graduate school. Half of my time was spent on projects sponsored by various parts of the company, including: creating tools to enable 3D printing of MATLAB plots; creating a digital interactive exhibit at the Ecotarium, a science museum; designing a testing framework for nonlinear PDE solvers; organized the Autonomous Fighting Robot Design Challenge as part of the 2013 Cambridge Science Festival. The other half of my time was spent helping customers solve technical problems using MATLAB and Simulink ranging over a vast array of knowledge domains including theoretical physics, computational finance, signal processing, synthetic biology, machine learning, etc.
